Extending the standard BO with associations

Hello,

We have a need to maintain Products(0..n) for Customers. I read in the help documentation and also tried in the Studio - that we cannot have associations in Extensions of standard Business Objects.

So is there any way of maintaining Products for Customers, other than defining a new BO (say 'MyCustomer') and associating products in it?
